Dr. McGonagle is a licensed psychologist who maintains a private practice in Worcester, Massachusetts. With over 25 years of experience in the mental health field, she has spent the majority of her career working in the areas of cognitive-behavioral therapy and health psychology. Her practice and training have specifically focused on the mental health and quality of life needs of women, including areas specific to women's reproductive psychology.
Dr. McGonagle received a doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology with a specialty in Clinical Health Psychology. Her doctoral dissertation involved studying the psychological changes women experience during perimenopause. She received a master's degree in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing from Northeastern University and Bachelors degree from Boston College School of Nursing. She has practiced in an advanced practice role of Clinical Nurse Specialist which includes experience prescribing psychiatric medication for a variety of mental health issues.
In addition to her clinical degrees, Dr. McGonagle has received specialty training at the Mind-Body Medical Insitute in Boston, MA., the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Clinic in Worcester and the Behavioral Medicine Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center (UMMHC) in Worcester, MA. Until recently she worked as part of the clinical team at the Women's Mental Health Specialty Clinic at UMMHC.
